Södermanland is an attractive region situated close to the south of Stockholm, capital of Sweden. Major cities: Eskilstuna (88,027), Nyköping (49,000) and Katrineholm (32,724). 

Södermanland has 9 municipalities: Eskilstuna, Strängnäs, Nyköping, Oxelösund, Trosa, Gnesta, Katrineholm, Flen and Vingåker.

The County Administrative Board is the “extended arm” of the central government and is located in Nyköping, the County capital.
