Innovation seminar in Lahti

Salpaus Further Education organizes an Innovation seminar on 21.-23.9.2010. Main points are entrepreneurship and companies’ introductions from Lahti area.  Different kinds of entrepreneurs, such as artists, are going to tell about their innovative action.

There are many speakers, e.g. Juhani Töytäri who founded the company Positiivarit Oy. Töytäri is an advocate of positivity and has done valuable work in dealing with this topic for years.
One of the key speakers is Peter Kelly, a professor in School of Art & Design, Aalto University.  He is awarded entrepreneurship educator and practitioner and has worked over the past 15 years in many countries such as Finland, Sweden and UK.

Seminar is accomplished almost entirely by students of tourism; the purpose is learning by doing. Students have planned and promoted the seminar, made side programs and reserved dining and accommodation. Students have considered the key points of Lahti’s innovative strategy which are environment, design and practical innovative action.

September is month of positivity and seminar week is a week of environment in Lahti area. The theme is food, because the food we use causes almost half of greenhouse gas releases.
